Rueda de Casino
Rueda means “wheel” in Spanish and describes the arrangement of a group of Salseros and Salseras having fun dancing together as a group rather than as a couple.
The Rueda is a group dance originating from Cuba. It is danced to lively, upbeat Salsa music.
The couples stand in a circle, and everybody dances as a couple. During the dance, partners constantly change, making it a vivid and joyful spectacle. The Rueda can be danced with a minimum of two couples. However, three or more couples is advisable. The beauty of the moves can then be shown better. Many couples is inadvisable because keeping the circle in a circular shape gets more challenging. This kind of dance is excellent for creating a social environment among the dancers and the people watching.
At the same time, it is lots of fun!
*Please note - Prerequisite to join the Rueda classes:
It is required to have completed a total beginner’s course and be competent with the fundamentals.
